| Thirty-Three Dag, can't believe I'm entering my 3rd year as a 30-something. More so cuz I feel like I'm about 15!! lol *sigh* In honor of the 33rd Annual Christie Day festivities, some friends & I went to AC for the night of my B-Day. Had so much fun & even won $80 at Roulette just before we left! lol But it's scary being 2 years closer to 35, I thank God for getting me here, but it's hella scary, scary I tell you!! Well on the plus side, at least I have a week off from work this week! Had a ton of vacation time to use up so decided to take off the whole week & connect it to the 4th of July holiday so I could have >1 week off total . Not going anywhere far, just doing little things around the city & visiting V & Baby K in Jersey. I might have said this before, but a few great things about having my B-Day on 7/3: I always get fireworks, I usually get a 1/2 day from work b/c the office closes early, I get a 3-day weekend if it falls on a Fri or Mon lol. Woohoo! Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! Oh & have fun @work, suckas!! lol hehehe | | |
| Food Poisoning ... Not Fun! So I had gone to see "Iron Man" last Tue w/some co-workers after work & had dinner beforehand. 1 of the girls & I wound up getting food poisoning later that night (she had it milder than me, I had it pretty bad). The torturous part was that it hit me right when I had gotten on my bus to go home. Which wouldn't have been as much of a problem if it happened closer to home, but my bus ride is anywhere between 45 mins & 1+ hour. That had to have been 1 of the longest bus rides ever! I was so sick that I was up all night from it, worked from home the next day (thank God my boss gave me that option!), & was still kinda feeling it the next day when I went back to work. My co-worker & I figured out it must've been from some of those tainted tomatoes that have been making their rounds lately, which we both had in our dishes & a hummus thingie they gave us as an appetizer. So I probably had salmonella poisoning, ughhh ... Funny thing is, in the midst of the sickness, I was a bit delirious & e-mailed the place I ate at to complain. Luckily the manager actually wrote me back apologizing & saying they take such complaints very seriously. But the thing is, he offered to send me a voucher that allows for a free meal. Now why would I wanna go back to the scene of the crime & risk it all again lol? Nice in gesture, but seriously lol! I think I might just use it on drinks lol ... Side Note: "Iron Man" was awesome! It was done so well & although I find her annoying most times, I actually thought Gwyneth was good in it, too. Robert Downey, Jr. was terrific, & might I add, veryvery yummy? *meowr* | | |
| 2-Second Commute Today, my job is doing a Disaster Recovery test of our Remote Access capability & b/c of this, they are asking 50-60% of the company to work from home just for today. I was 1 of the lucky ones picked for this, so I get to work from home today, woohoo! To add to it, I'm only "on-duty" til 2:30pm b/c we always close early before a major holiday. My 2-second "commute" today involved me rolling out of bed @8:35am & logging onto my PC lol, SHWEEEEET! I could totally get used to this lol! | | |
| Spamalot Saw this Fri night after work & have to say it was HILARIOUS! I think this is my absolute favorite Broadway play ever, it had me in stitches! Tickets were kinda pricey, but totally worth it. I actually have never seen any Monty Python stuff before I saw the show, so I basically went in knowing little to nothing about it. But my curiosity is peeked & I want to watch their old movies soon as I get a chance to . I actually don't like Clay Aiken much, but I have to say, he was great in this, really funny! | | |
| I am a Dork (lol) 2 funny things from the Ski/Snowboarding Trip to Sugarbush last weekend I totally forgot about: - On the drive back, I was enjoying the scenery out the bus window (without my glasses on) & spotted what I thought was a bear. I didn't realize how loudly I said, "Look, a BEAR!" until someone said back, "That's a cow!" & the whole bus roared with laughter lol. Mind you, I only knew 5 of the 50 people on that bus lol. Doh!
- The guy who organized the trip had a bunch of snacks for people to take @the front of the bus. On my way back in from a break, I stopped to grab a Rice Krispy treat & overheard a girl I didn't know say she wanted one, too. So I thought I'd be nice & ask her if she wanted me to get it for her, to which she nodded & proceeded to hold out her hands above her head implying she meant for me to throw it to her. So I said, "Go long!" & then wound up throwing it too hard ... & hitting the girl behind her in the face! lol Doh! Everyone was cracking up (once again, I don't know these people! lol) & the girl I hit was NOT happy, even though I apologized profusely lol!
So like the subject line sez: I am a Dork! lol Speaking of the trip, I am totally obsessed w/snowboarding now lol. I'm thinking if I have a good time @my next trip next wknd, I may do a snowboarding camp @Whistler over the summer. Obsessed I tell you!! lol | | |
